You may choose to exchange or return an item that was purchased and gifted to you using our return and exchange methods. Please note that any refunded amount, including any remaining balance in the case of an exchange, will be automatically reimbursed to the original purchaser. 

You are welcome to visit a Cartier boutique within the same country of your original purchase to exchange or refund your online and phone purchases.

Creations purchased in North America Cartier boutiques may be returned for a refund, exchange, or merchandise credit within 30 days of purchase. All returns and exchanges must meet the conditions for return and belong to a current collection, as we do not exchange discontinued pieces.

With the exception of cash purchases, refunds will be issued to the original purchaser via original method of payment. Purchases made in cash will be refunded via check.

Timing

Cartier allows a client or gift recipient to return or exchange Cartier creations purchased from Cartier within thirty (30) days of receipt of the creation. 


Location

Creations purchased online or over the phone through the Cartier Client Relations Center may be returned or exchanged through the Client Relations Center. While Cartier boutiques can facilitate the return of online and phone purchases, creations purchased in Cartier boutiques within North America may only be returned or exchanged in the orignal boutique of purchase.


Conditions

All Cartier creations must be returned in a new and unused state, in perfect condition, with all protective materials in place and tags and stickers attached to them. We are unable to accept any return if the product shows signs of wear, or has been used or altered from its original condition in any way.

• It is not possible to return or exchange creations that have been engraved, embossed, modified, or personalized.

• Watch bracelets that have been adjusted must be returned with the exact same number of links as in the original delivery package.

• The returned or exchanged creation must belong to a current collection; we can not exchange discontinued pieces.

All returns and exchanges must be made within the country of purchase. Cartier Client Relations for North America may assist with both Canadian and United States purchases; however, Cartier boutiques in the United States and Canada may only process returns for purchases made within their respective countries.

Any protective materials such as casings are there to ensure your Cartier purchase remains in a condition eligible for return or exchange. If you have removed any protective materials, the creation must still be in a pristine, unworn condition to qualify under the return and exchange policy. We are unable to accept any return if the product shows signs of wear, including scratches.

Should you wish to return or exchange your Cartier.com or Client Relations Center purchase, you may either visit a Cartier boutique or complete the return or exchange by mail via our Client Relations Center using the steps below.

1. Contact the Cartier Client Relations Center to receive your unique return authorization number, which must be noted on the return form included in the original shipment.
2. Prior to placing your creation in the box, ensure that any clasps or parts are secured and the piece will not have any friction during transit.
3. Close your Cartier red box. Place your red box and other packaging within the white shipping box in the same setup as it was when you received it. If the outmost white shipping box is damaged, you may use your own.
4. Close the white shipping box. For security purposes, please ensure that the box is not marked with any insight as to what is inside. For example, do not write anything relating to Cartier on the box.
5. Use the provided prepaid billable stamp on the top of the box, and take the package to a FedEx facility near you. We recommend keeping the tracking information for your visibility so that you may track the path within our quality control process; taking a photo of the label is a convenient way to record this information.

Once received, your creation will enter our quality control inspection process. If the creation is determined to be acceptable for return, it may take approximately seven business days for your refund or exchange to be fully processed. (Please note that this timeframe may be longer around holidays or other popular gifting seasons.) If the creation is unable to pass the quality control inspection, we will be in touch with the next steps to return the creation back to you.

Once received, your creation will enter our quality control inspection process. If the creation is determined to be acceptable for return, it may take five to seven business days for your refund or exchange to be fully processed.

Cartier’s iconic design of the LOVE bracelet is unique and requires care when placing it upon your wrist to prevent scratching or damage. We recommend visiting our Jewelry Instructions page for more information regarding our classic LOVE bracelet, including an illustrated guide and  video instructions.

When attaching or removing the bracelet, we recommend that you:

  1. Remove all other jewelry to protect the bracelet
  2. Position your wrist over a solid surface that would provide a soft landing and reduce damage, such as a bed or large cushion.
  3. Seek the help of another person to prevent scratching the bracelet or yourself. One person should be prepared to loosen the screws, while the bracelet wearer holds the two halves of the bracelet in position with their opposite thumb and index finger.

Please note Cartier items can only be returned or exchanged in pristine condition, so should the item show any signs of wear or damage, a return or exchange would no longer be possible.

Personalization is available on certain creations; we offer engraving for our jewelry and watches, and embossing for leather goods. Consult our Personalize Your Creation page to learn more about how you can personalize your Cartier creation.

If personalization is available for a particular creation, it will be indicated on that creation's page. You can also ask for this service when placing an order over the phone.

Please note that personalized creations cannot be returned or exchanged.

Should you need to cancel or change your order, please contact our Client Relations Center as soon as possible; we will make every effort to accommodate your request. Please note that we cannot guarantee that your order may be adjusted once it has been submitted.

Processed orders may not be cancelled or modified; however, you may return your item subject to our Conditions of Sale.

Once a creation has been personalized, including through our embossing or engraving services, it cannot be returned or exchanged. These items are considered final sale.
