WATCHMAKING SAVOIR-FAIRE
WATCHMAKING SAVOIR-FAIRE
Technique dedicated to aesthetics: that is the creative principal of Cartier Watchmaking. This rigorous approach is coupled with a curiosity that knows no bounds.
Graphic rigor and movement
A savoir-faire challenge that gives structure to the ensemble, from the shape of the links to the mini case, whose cut glass with sixteen facets accentuates the key element.
Transfiguration
An automatic skeleton movement is integrated into the Santos-Dumont watch case without changing the proportions. Its oscillating weight is adorned with a miniature replica of the Demoiselle, a precursor aircraft designed by aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont in 1907.
TANK FRANÇAISE
Paring back the line of the Tank Française watch so that the case and the bracelet become one: this was the watchmaking challenge presented to the design studios and the Manufacture.
THE DESIGN CONQUERS ALL
For Cartier, the starting point for every watchmaking creation is its shape: a mastery of form complements the choice of technique.
BEYOND THE BEAUTY
Cartier has mastered all the crafts required in the service of beauty, so perfectly that they become imperceptible. Beyond the iconic watchmaking aesthetics, every employee exhibits the same level of excellence - unobtrusive and essential.
INNOVATION
Going ever further, pushing back the boundaries of creativity, asking questions - innovation is the beating heart of every creation. This signature spirit presides over the development of spectacular watches that reflect Cartier's vision of time.
ENHANCEMENT
The art of jewelry and that of watchmaking are combined within Cartier’s precious timepieces. Bringing the meticulousness of jewelry to the scale of watches is a feat that increases the brilliance and magnetism of the creations tenfold.
MASSE MYSTÉRIEUSE
To push back the limits of gravity, Cartier has combined two of its watchmaking signatures within the Masse Mystérieuse: the skeleton and the mysterious movement that has been turning hands in the empty space of the dial since 1912.
COUSSIN
How about a flexible watch? Starting with a shape that is an integral part of Cartier's watchmaking repertoire - the Coussin watch - and entrusting it to the design studio. Flexible, gem-set, spectacular: the Coussin watch never sleeps.
RÉVÉLATION D'UNE PANTHÈRE
Experimenting with time, giving it a shape - and making it disappear.
An allegory of the passing of time, the hourglass has been reinterpreted by Cartier to create a magical watch that reveals – in a single gesture – its emblematic animal, the panther, made up of a multitude of gold spheres.
