L'Art De Cartier - Cartier

L’ART DE CARTIER (1989-1990)

Paris, Musée du Petit Palais

L’Art de Cartier at the Petit Palais Museum was the first in a series of major retrospective exhibitions to be presented around the world. Commissioned by Gilles Chazal, Director of the Petit Palais, this exhibition attracted a record-breaking 260,000 visitors, second only to the record numbers that flocked to see the Tutankhamen exhibition organized by André Malraux in 1967. A number of loans from private collections, including a unique set of Académie Française swords, were displayed alongside the emergent Cartier Collection.
