CARTIER LIMITED WARRANTY USA / CANADA


The present Cartier Limited Warranty applies to watches sold or presented for warranty service in the United States of America and Canada only.

Your Cartier watch is warranted against any manufacturing defect for a period of twenty-four (24) months from the date of purchase (the “Warranty Period”) subject to the following conditions. If your watch is returned during the Warranty Period, any component found by our technical services to be defective as a result of a manufacturing defect will be, at Cartier’s sole discretion, repaired or replaced free of charge. Upon expiration of the Warranty Period, any services or repairs will be subject to a service charge.


Your Cartier Limited Warranty does not cover, notably:

  • defects and damages resulting from misuse or negligence, or from accident,
  • defects and damages caused by improper use (knocks, dents, crushing to the case, crystal, bracelet or strap, etc.), alterations, tampering, dismantling or unauthorized modifications or repairs, as well as services, works and repairs performed by anyone other than a Cartier Boutique, a Cartier authorized retailer or a Cartier authorized after-sales service center, or caused by the use of components and/or accessories other than those recommended by Cartier;
  • watches where the serial number originally engraved on the watch case is removed or not clearly legible, or where any part of the original watch back or any original number has been removed, changed, altered, replaced, erased or defaced;
  • routine maintenance and cleaning, as well as the consequences of the normal wear and tear and ageing of the watch.
  • Any defects resulting from the contact with water, if your water-resistant watch did not undergo the water-resistance tests required by Cartier each time the case was opened for any reason (including, for instance, replacement of a battery), or if your watch is not water-resistant.

EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THIS CARTIER LIMITED WARRANTY IS A LIMITED WARRANTY AND SHALL BE THE EXCLUSIVE MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES. NEITHER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY NOR ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL EXTEND BEYOND THE PERIOD OF TWENTY-FOUR MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. FOR A PERIOD OF TWENTY-FOUR MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE, CARTIER WILL, IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION, REPAIR OR REPLACE ANY COMPONENT FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE AS A RESULT OF A MANUFACTURING DEFECT FREE OF CHARGE UNDER THIS CARTIER LIMITED WARRANTY. THIS WARRANTY IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY. CARTIER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE, BY VIRTUE OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY OR OTHERWISE, FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE YOUR WATCH, OR FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RELATING IN ANY WAY TO YOUR WATCH.


Cartier does not authorize any Cartier Boutique, Cartier authorized retailer or any other third party to make any warranties beyond this Limited Warranty, or to otherwise assume for Cartier any obligations or liability in connection with the sale of its products. Some states, provinces or territories do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

CARTIER Limited Repair Warranty
(United States and Canada)

The following CARTIER International Limited Repair Warranty (Limited Repair Warranty) applies to CARTIER watches serviced by a CARTIER Boutique, a CARTIER Authorized Retailer or a CARTIER After-Sales Service Center in the USA or Canada and presented for repair service in any country (Initial Repair).


Each intervention on your watch is performed in compliance with the highest standards of the art and is guaranteed during twenty-four (24) months from the date of repair stated on your repair documents (“Limited Repair Warranty Period”) against any defect on the intervention found by our technical service, subject to the exclusions mentioned hereunder. Although the Initial Repair itself will be subject to a service charge, under this Limited Repair Warranty, CARTIER will, free of charge and subject to shipping costs which are to be borne by you, repair or replace any defective spare parts associated with the Initial Repair free of charge during the Limited Repair Warranty Period. This is the sole and exclusive remedy under this Limited Repair Warranty.


Your CARTIER International Limited Repair Warranty is not a service contract and does not cover, notably:

  • Defects or damages resulting from misuse or negligence, or from accident,
  • Defects or damages caused by improper use (knocks, dents, crushing to the case, crystal, bracelet or strap, etc.), alterations, tampering, dismantling or unauthorized modifications or repairs, as well as services, works and repairs performed by anyone other than a CARTIER Boutique, a CARTIER Authorized Retailer or a CARTIER After-Sales Service Center, or caused by the use of components and/or accessories other than those recommended by CARTIER;
  • Battery replacement whereas a complete service was recommended by CARTIER;
  • Watches where the serial number originally engraved on the watch case is removed or not clearly legible, or where any part of the original watch back or any original number has been removed, changed, altered, replaced, erased or defaced;
  • Routine maintenance and cleaning, as well as the consequences of the normal wear and tear and ageing of the watch.

Please note also that the CARTIER International Repair Warranty is not applicable in the event necessary interventions recommended by CARTIER are not performed upon your specific request.


You may obtain coverage under this Limited Repair Warranty at any time during the Limited Repair Warranty Period by bringing or sending the watch to your CARTIER Boutique, CARTIER Authorized Retailer or CARTIER After-Sales Service Center. In order to benefit from this Limited Repair Warranty, you are required to present the original Initial Repair invoice and/or Initial Repair documents that you received at the time the Initial Repair was completed. You are responsible for costs associated with transportation and delivery of your watch to your CARTIER Boutique, CARTIER Authorized Retailer or CARTIER After-Sales Service Center, including but not limited to postage, insurance and packing materials. We recommend that any shipment to us include certified delivery and insurance. Upon expiration of the Limited Repair Warranty Period, any service/repair will be subject to a service charge.


Only CARTIER Boutiques, CARTIER Authorized Retailers or CARTIER After-Sales Service Centers are entitled to provide warranty services as defined herein. Limited Warranty


Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, this Limited Repair Warranty is a limited repair warranty and shall be the exclusive repair warranty in lieu of any other express or implied warranties. Neither this Limited Repair Warranty nor any other warranties arising from repair of, or service performed on, the product, or replacement parts, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, any implied warranty of merchantability or implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, shall extend beyond the period of one (1) year from the date of repair stated on your original Initial Repair invoice and/or Initial Repair documents. Under this Limited Repair Warranty, during the Limited Repair Warranty Period, CARTER will repair or replace any defective replacement part associated with the Initial Repair free of charge subject to the right to charge for shipping costs. This is the sole and exclusive remedy. CARTIER shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. CARTIER does not authorize any distributor or seller of its products to make any warranties beyond this Limited Repair Warranty, or to otherwise assume for CARTIER any obligations or liability in connection with the repair of or service performed on its products. Some states, provinces or territories do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.


The present Limited Repair Warranty is granted by CARTIER and is in addition to any other legal rights you could have based on the relevant national legislation; this Limited Repair Warranty does not interfere with such rights.


This Limited Repair Warranty is totally independent of the CARTIER International Warranty or Limited Warranty given with your purchase.


Please note that the present Limited Repair Warranty, the intervention invoice and/or repair documents shall not be construed as a certificate of authenticity.

The present Cartier Official Pre-Owned Limited Warranty applies to (i) Cartier pre-owned genuine watches, (ii) previously owned by a bona fide end-customer, (iii) sold to you by a Cartier official pre-owned dealer in the United States of America and Canada (a “Pre-Owned Watch”), and (iv) presented for warranty service in the United States of America and Canada.


The Cartier Official Pre-Owned Limited Warranty guarantees your Pre-Owned Watch from any refurbishment defect of the official pre-owned dealer for a period of twenty-four (24) months from the date of purchase (the “Warranty Period”) subject to the following conditions. If your watch is returned during the Warranty Period, any component found by our technical services to be defective as a result of a refurbishment defect of the official pre-owned dealer will be, at Cartier’s sole discretion, repaired or replaced free of charge. Upon expiration of the Warranty Period, any services or repairs will be subject to a service charge.


Your Cartier Official Pre-Owned Limited Warranty does not cover, notably:

  • defects and damages resulting from misuse or negligence, or from accident,
  • defects and damages caused by improper use (knocks, dents, crushing to the case, crystal, bracelet or strap, etc.), alterations, tampering, dismantling or unauthorized modifications or repairs, as well as services, works and repairs performed by anyone other than a Cartier Boutique, a Cartier authorized retailer, a Cartier official pre-owned dealer or a Cartier authorized after-sales service center, or caused by the use of components, spare parts and/or accessories other than those recommended by Cartier;
  • Pre-Owned Watches where the serial number originally engraved on the Pre-Owned Watch case is removed or not clearly legible, or where any part of the original Pre-Owned Watch back or any original number has been removed, changed, altered, replaced, erased or defaced;
  • routine maintenance and cleaning, as well as the consequences of the normal wear and tear and ageing of the Pre-Owned Watch;
  • any defects resulting from the contact with water, if your water-resistant Pre-Owned Watch did not undergo the water-resistance tests required by Cartier each time the case was opened for any reason (including, for instance, replacement of a battery), or if your Pre-Owned Watch is not water-resistant.

EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THIS CARTIER LIMITED WARRANTY IS A LIMITED WARRANTY AND SHALL BE THE EXCLUSIVE MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES. UPON EXPIRATION OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD, ANY SERVICES OR REPAIRS WILL BE SUBJECT TO A SERVICE CHARGE. THIS WARRANTY IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY.
